Hi, I'm Ogenna
I arrived Germany 5years ago and in this time I have been able to finish my masters degree in Architectural Lighting Design, worked with one engineering office, one design office and now working with one of the biggest aircraft manufacturers in the world as a Cabin Lighting Designer
I moved to Germany to get a master’s degree, at least that is what I say. But my friends say I moved to Germany for love, which is also true.
My husband, who was my fiance at the time, convinced me it was a good idea for us to study in Germany.
He first came to Germany, made sure my applications and all necessary things were done and 1 year later I arrived in Germany in September of 2019 for a masters in Architectural Lighting Design.
It’s been five years and I have gotten my master’s, worked with really cool engineering and design offices and currently working with some of the best brains in the world. It’s safe to say that I am glad we took that step.
You see,
As a foreigner in a country filled with unending bureaucracy, and cultures that are unfamiliar to me, I have experienced, firsthand, the difficulty that comes with navigating these new realities.
Some, I have found my way around, others, I am still working on.
Many of us relocate for different reasons. To experience other cultures, to get an education, for work, to be reunited with a spouse, or for circumstances beyond our control, like a war for example.
Whatever the reason may be, understanding how things work in the country is a big part of integration and I would love to make this integration journey a bit easier for other foreigners like myself, as they navigate their new life in Germany.
On this website I share relevant information on life in Germany, what to do, and how to do them, as well as tips I have picked up along the way.
I hope the information you get here helps you settle into your new live in Germany.
